PURPOSE:To contrive to change the device into high output one by increasing the cooling effect due to coolant and then ionizing a laser medium by a method wherein an inner tube provided with a resonator, an outer tube which is arranged in the outer periphery of this inner tube and passes the coolant into the inside, and electrodes for impressing AC voltage are provided. CONSTITUTION:Electrode 3 are provided at both ends of the inner tube 1, and a total reflection mirror 6 and a partial transmission mirror 7 as the resonator are provided at the both ends. DC glow discharge is generated between the electrodes by passing the laser medium 4 into the inside and then impressing a DC voltage between the both electrodes 3, resulting in the resonance of the glow discharge by means of the mirrors 6 and 7, and a part of the resonance is taken out as a laser beam A by means of the partial transmission mirror 7. The electrode 8 for impressing AC voltage in ring form is provided at a part on the outer wall surface of the outer tube 2 which passes the coolant 5 over the entire periphery, and then a AC voltage is impressed. Thereby, the voltage is impressed on the coolant 5 and the cooling medium 4, resulting in the activation of the molecular movement of the coolant 5; accordingly the cooling effect can be enhanced. |
