PURPOSE:To make seal welding for secondary seal piece by a short time by using an elastical one, such as a lip seal to be formed in a single body with each member jointed, as a secondary seal piece, which serves to prevent leakage of the cooling material when the function of the primary seal member such as a circulation pump for nuclear reactor has lowered. CONSTITUTION:Between a pump casing 101 and casing cover 106, a gasket 126 as primary seal member is contained in a ring-shaped recess 124 excavated at the inner rim of the joint surface 118A in order to prevent leakage of the high- pressure cooling material in the pump casing 101. At the outside surfaces of the flange part 112 and ring-shaped ridge 118, lip seals 128, 130 as secondary seal pieces are provided with a gap reserved between 132, where the edges of these lip seals 128, 130 are welded 134 to each other. As the welding process can be completed by a short time owing to the minor dimensioning of both seals, no ill effect is applied to the gasket 126 for the thermal reason. |
