PURPOSE:To permit to operate the pump and the water wheel with the characteristic of high efficiency by a method wherein the ratio of the diameter of an inlet port of a vane for a runner to the same of the outlet port of the vane for the runner is made optimum in accordance with the introduction of a generator motor. CONSTITUTION:When a relation f3=0.6+93/n is defined where D1 is the inlet port diameter of the vane for the runner, D2 is the outlet port diameter of the vane for the runner, N is a rotating speed, P is the output of the water wheel, H is the maximum head and n is a water wheel relative speed, the ratio of dimensions of the outlet port and the inlet port of the vane for the runner is determined so as to satisfy the relation 0.95f3<=D1/D2<=1.07f3. In case of the runner, satisfying this relation, the operating characteristic of the pump water wheel may be improved easily by utilizing the variable speed generator motor. In this case, the degree of changing speed is enough within + or -20% of a rated revolving speed to obtain a sufficient effect. |
