PURPOSE:To stably supply a developer into a magnetic brush by providing a developer replenishing means for replenishing the developer from a developer chamber to a magnetic particle chamber to the boundary part between the magnetic particle chamber contg. a mixture composed of the developer and the magnetic particles and the developer chamber. CONSTITUTION:A partition wall 40, a rotatable developer replenishing roller 51, a stopper 52 an a sealing member 53 are provided in a developer supplying container 21. A sleeve 22 is rotated in an arrow (b) direction, then a magnetic brush 27a circulates in an arrow (c) direction ear a magnetic pole 23a to form a circulating layer 27c if the disposing position of the magnetic pole 23a and the fluidity and magnetic characteristics of the magnetic particles 27 are adequately selected. The nonmagnetic developer 28 is thereby successively taken in from the developer layer existing on the magnetic particle layer. The rotation and rise of the roller 51 are stopped by a stopper 52 just before the roller 51 rises to arrive at the limiting amt. at which fogging is generated on increasing of the content of the developer in the magnetic particle layer. The excessive increase of the content of the developer in the lower chamber is thus prevented. |
