PURPOSE:To contrive to improve the reliability and performance of an engine by a structure wherein a valve timing adjusting mechanism to adjust the valve opening or closing period of exhaust valve is provided in a timing gear system. CONSTITUTION:Working oil in a pump barrel 3 is sent through an actuator cylinder 7 by pushing up a plunger 4 with a cam 2. An exhaust valve 10 is open by utilizing an actuator piston 8 and an air spring 24. The timing to close or clear an oil charge port 13 is changed by rotating a pinion 15 and a barrel 12 with a rack 14, resulting in controlling the timing to open the exhaust valve 10. The reliability of an engine can be enhanced and at the same time the improvement of the performance of the engine can be contrived. |
