The present specification provides novel analogs of khellin. These analogs are all useful as antiatherosclerotic agents. Particularly, the present specification provides 4-methoxy, 9-methoxy, or 4,9-dimethoxy-6,7-dihydro-7,7-disubstituted-5H-furo[3,2-g][1]benzopyra n-5-ones.
