PURPOSE:To improve the quality of a treating liquid, by precoating a mixture of a particulate ion exchange resin and specific barlike polyacrylonitrile fibers on a filter element and passing liquid through the precoated layer. CONSTITUTION:A particulate ion exchange resin of 2-250mu particule sizes and polyacrylonitrile fibers of 2-200mu size and 250-1,000mu length are dispersed in water and are thoroughly mixed, whereby a slurry mixture is prepd. The slurry mixture is passed on a filter element and is precoated thereon at a prescribed thickness. Liquid contg. impurities is passed in said precoated layer to remove impurities from the liquid. A mixture of a cation exchange resin and an anion exchange resin is used for the particulate ion exchange resin in the case of removing simultaneously ions such as cations and anions together insoluble materials such as colloidal materials in the liquid. |
