PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material causing no deterioration in sharpness by enlargement with high magnification, by incorporating a coupler capable of releasing a diffusible development inhibitor on coupling reaction, and a polymer latex in said material. CONSTITUTION:The intended photosensitive silver halide material is obtained by incorporating (A) a coupler, such as shown by formula II, capable of releasing a diffusible development inhibitor represented by formula I (A is a coupler component; m is 1-2; and Y is a group combining with the coupling site of A and releasable by the reaction with the oxidized product of a color developing agent, and a highly diffusible development inhibitor), and (B) a polymer coupler latex derived from a monomer latex, such as shown by formula IV, represented by formula III in which R is H, 1-4C alkyl, or the like; X, Y are each -CONH- or the like; A represents 1-10C alkylene, Q is a coupler residue; and m, n are each 0 or 1.
