PURPOSE:To provide an aligning apparatus for long vegetables such as an eggplant and the like which can prevent damages of vegetables and improve work efficiency by guiding long vegetables to the center by a pair of right and left guide members disposed at the variable interval on a conveyer to be supplied to aligning spirals. CONSTITUTION:Long vegetables 2 on a conveyer 4 are put together at the central part of the conveyer 4 by guide members to be dropped and supplied onto aligning spirals 3, and the long vegetables 2 are aligned between the aligning spirals 3 with the longitudinal direction directed sideways to be dropped on a lower conveyer 10. In this case, if the interval between the guide members 5 is decreased, the long vegetables 2 are strongly collected at the central part of the conveyer, so that the vegetables 2 are kept from projecting into the end portion of the aligning spiral 3 and contacting the end portion thereof. In case of short vegetables 2, the interval between the guide members is expanded to increase the width of alignment so as to improve work efficiency. |
