PURPOSE:To enable the fingertip attaching and detaching of a plug and an adaptor by providing the parts to be fitted to a housing at both ends of the adapter, and providing a guide hole into which the nozzle of a fiber holder is inserted and is used to place the end faces of the optical fibers to be connected so as to face to each other in inserting the plug. CONSTITUTION:An adapter C is made of metal or the like and is made into a cylindrical shape as a whole. The adapter is interposed between plugs to connect the plugs oppositely to each other. Fitting parts 51, 51 provided with engaging projection parts 53 to be engaged with the undercut 33 of a housing 30 are provided at both ends of the adapter C and a guide hole 52 to be inserted therein with the nozzle 12 of a fiber holder 10 is provided in the longitudinal direction thereof. The hole 52 is so formed as to permit the insertion of the nozzle 12 freely attachably and detachably, and the length thereof is so set that the forward ends of the optical fiber cables held by both plugs contact face to face with each other when the plugs A, B are fitted to the adapter C. |
