PURPOSE:To enable the reduction in processing time, by forming a recess of the diameter larger than the diameter of a small diameter hole on the exposed surface of an optical fiber, melting the forward end part of the optical fiber so as to fill said part into said recess to form a large diameter of the optical fiber and forming the end face in the large diameter part to a projecting surface shape. CONSTITUTION:An embodiment of an optical fiber cable provided with a plug is illustrated. The approximate construction thereof is similar to the construction of known optical fiber cords, except that only the end face of a plug 1 differs. More specifically, a recess 10 of the diameter larger than the hole diameter of a small diameter hole 4 into which a fiber 7 is inserted is formed on the end face of the plug 1, and the end part of the fiber 7 is melted and is densely filled in the recess 10, by which a large diameter part 11 is formed. The exposed end face thereof is formed to a projecting curved surface 12. |
