PURPOSE:To perform sealing welding and regular welding in welding of a joint part in butt welding of two sheets of steel plates, by using a band wire electrode as a preceding electrode in two electrode welding. CONSTITUTION:A band wire electrode is used for the above-described sealing welding, so that welding is accomplished at a high speed and the two electrode welding using said electrode as a preceding electrode is made possible. The band wire welding electrode is of a belt shape having about 1.2mm. thickness and 8- 50mm. width and is used by manipulating the same in the thickness direction thereof. Then penetration is shallow and since the molten metal flows down into the groove gap from both slopes in the groove, the effecting sealing is accomplished and the welding speed is correspondingly increased. The sealing heads are usable as regular welding beads as they are by means of this method. |
