PURPOSE:To reduce the product of the current and the time of a defective current by providing a high speed breaker in each inverter unit and providing a smoothing condenser in each input circuit. CONSTITUTION:High speed breakers 7-1-7-n like rapid breakage fuses are respectively inserted to the inverter unit sides of breakers 6-1-6-n. Reactors 8-1- 8-n for suppressing the defective current are inserted between smoothing condensers 4-1-4-n and a DC bus BU. In this structure, when a switching element i an inverter unit 5-1 is, for example, broken and a shortcircuit defect occurs, the breaker 7-1 like the fuse breaks or operates faster than the breaker 6-1 due to the defective current, and a defect inverter unit 5-1 is then separated. Since the time required for this separation is very short, the time integration value of the defective current can be reduced. |
