PURPOSE:To provide a sintered soft magnetic alloy which has particularly high sintering density, an excellent soft magnetic characteristic, and is suited for production of sintered soft magnetic parts having excellent dimensional accuracy, by incorporating a small amt. of Mo and trace amts. of C and O therein and consisting of the balance substantially Fe. CONSTITUTION:A sintered soft magnetic alloy contains, by weight fraction, 0.5- 5% Mo, contains <=0.05% C, and <=0.05% O, consists of the balance substantially Fe, and has >=7.0g/cc sintering density. Sintering progresses in an austenite phase owing to the addition of a small amt. of Mo in the above-described compsn.; therefore, large shrinkage by sintering in a ferrite phase as with P and Si does not arise. Since Mo does not increase sintering hardness at all, the sizing after sintering is easy, and the product having high dimensional accuracy is obtd. This sintered soft magnetic alloy expands considerably the application range of the soft magnetic parts and is highly effective in improving the performance of the parts and economic efficiency. |
