PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy and the efficiency of rolling, by forming the end part of a core body of roll into a stepped shape and inserting a sleeve to the core body, and making the effective length of a roll body changeable. CONSTITUTION:The end part of a core body 6 of roll and/or the end part 8 of a sleeve 7 are formed into stepped shapes, respectively, and the sleeve 7 is fitted to the core body 6. And ring spacers 10, 11 are respectively inserted to a cylindrical space formed between the end part 8 and the end part of the core body 6. The fitting conditions among the sleeve 7, the core body 6, and the spacers 10, 11 are changed by moving the spacers 10, 11 in the axial direction. A rolling roll having said construction is incorporated as at least one of a work roll, a hollow roll, and a back-up roll into a rolling mill. Both accuracy and the efficiency are improved by using said rolling mill. |
