PURPOSE:To obtain a heat-sensitive transfen medium which produces high frequencies of high-density transfer images with a high heat sensitivity by making a receiving layer contain a porous filler with the oil absorption level exceeding a specified value while p-ester hydroxybenzonic acid with a low melting point is employed as color developer. CONSTITUTION:In heat-sensitive transfer medium comprising a transfer sheet having a transfer layer mainly composed of a leuco dye and a receiving sheet having a receiving layer mainly composed of a color developer for the leuco dye, the receiving layer contains a porous filler (e.g. inorganic and organic fine powder such as silica, aluminum silicate, alumina and stylene) with an oil absorption level exceeding 50ml/100g while p-ester hydroxybenzonic acid with a melting point of below 55 deg.C is employed as color developer. As compared with the conventional thermal transfer medium, the present invention is characterized by providing a high density with a high heat-sensitivity and producing a high frequency of high-density transfer images with a limited shift of a dye component to the receiving layer from the transfer layer. |
