PURPOSE:To obtain a material to be recorded with an ink absorptivity and an excellent color forming property by providing an ink absorbing layer having a specific Beckmannsmoothness on the surface of a support. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. of a filler such as silica with the size of 1-30mum is blended with 10-100pts.wt. of a binder (e.g. PVA) and a dispersant, a fluorescent dye, a pH adjusting agent, a defoaming agent, a lubricant, a preservative, a surfactant and the like as required and dispersed into a medium such as water to form a coat liquid. Then, the coat liquid is applied on the support in the range of 1-50g/m<2> and dried as quickly as possible to form an ink absorbing layer with the Beckman smoothness of 20-120sec. Thus, voids between filler particles exists bigger and in a large number on the surface of the ink absorbing layer so as to serve as ink absorbing holes, eliminating possible oozing out or exudation of the ink even when recording liquids of different color overlap on each other at the same position within a short period thereby ensuring a clear picture with a high resolution. |
