PURPOSE:To enhance printing efficiency through reducing a printing output period of a printer without complicating construction, by a method wherein data in a screen display memory are converted into each controlling code and printing code through a CPU, which are stored into a printing memory. CONSTITUTION:The CPU5 in a controller 3 reads one-line part of information from the screen display memory 4, and discriminates whether or not sequential digit place information is printing data. When the information is printing data, it is discriminated whether or not the preceding data are printing data. When the preceding data are printing data, the present printing data are stored into the printing memory 6, and whe the preceding data are not printing data, a controlling code for tabulating by an amount corresponding to the number of digit places is stored into the memory 6. On the other hand, when the information read is not printing data, it is discriminated whether or not printing data are present in the line under concern, and a carriage return code and a line feed code or only the line feed code is stored into the memory 6. Accordingly, a spacing action is unnecessitated, and printing output period can be shortened through a simple construction by only increasing the capacity of the memory. |
