PURPOSE:To make tightening of a seat belt at the time of a collision reliable, by a method wherein the end of the lap belt part of the seat belt is connected with a movable bracket, the belt is wound around a movable bracket and the belt is pulled by moving force of a crew at the time of the collision. CONSTITUTION:A belt tightening system 36 is provided on the lower part of a pillar part 32 of a car body. Then, the end of a belt 38 is engulfed in a retractor 26, through which engulfing force is being applied always and the other end is connected with a movable bracket 50 of the above-mentioned belt tightening system 36. Midway of the belt 38 is penetrated through by a shoulder anchor 34 and a lap anchor 30 and is connectable with a buckle 28 through a tongue. Movement of the above-mentioned movable bracket 50 is interrupted by a shear pin to be sheared when inpact force is larger than a given value. Then, when force applicable to the movable bracket 50 exceeds the given value, the above- mentioned pin is sheared and the bracket 50 is moved. The belt 38, therefore, is tightened. |
