PURPOSE:To improve capability for destaticization by lowering the frequency of an AC destaticization device and generating a rectangular wave when destaticizes the residual potential of an electro-photographic sensitive drum. CONSTITUTION:The surface potential of the photosensitive drum 1 is held positive for initial electrostatic charge 2 or impressed negative during transfer. At this time, the negative potential of the drum 1 is not held high locally at the leading end of a form and at the trailing end of the form right after conveyance by impressing the rectangular wave of low AC frequency, e.g. 50Hz and 5.5kV with an AC destaticizer in the preprocess of a cleaner 10, so the negative potential of the photosensitive drum 1 is lowered to zero smoothly, simultaneously with the AC impression. |
