Method for obtaining constant predetermined gas flow rates from a source of gas under an upstream pressure towards an outlet under a downstream pressure, according to which the upstream pressure is held at a constant value greater than double the downstream pressure, and the gas is made to flow along a circuit into which is interposed one of the orifices of a series of calibrated orifices corresponding to the various predetermined flow rates. Flow rate generator for the implementation of this method, comprising an inlet 3 able to be linked to a source of gas at constant pressure S, an outlet 5 and a circuit linking the inlet and the outlet, according to which the circuit comprises a disc D interposed between a body C receiving the inlet 2 and outlet 4 piping and a rotating stopper B, a disc provided with an axial passage 14 communicating with a first piping of the body and calibrated orifices 15 linked to the second piping, the stopper comprising a frontal incision 10 making the axial passage communicate, by rotation, with any one of the orifices.
