When the air-to-fuel ratio become as lean as near the critical point for misfire, No.2 injection valve drive circuit 15 will, with the aid of a misfire probability sensing circuit 17, stop emission of the injection pulse signals for fuel injection valves 4b, 4c. At the same time, the shutter valve control circuit 18 closes the intake manifolds 2b, 2c of No.2 and No.3 cyinders. |
