COMBINATION SLIDING MEMBER

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide a combination sliding member which is excellent in corrosion resistance and wear resistance and has a small coefficient of friction by using corrosion resisting and wear resisting material whose base is copper or the like in which carbon is mixed, for one of two sliding members contacting each other, and using Si3N4 ceramic material for the other member thereof. CONSTITUTION:One member is formed of ceramic Si3N4 and the other member is formed of a material whose base is a metal such as Cu, Ni or the like in which 5 to 20vol% of carbon particles are mixed or 40 to 60vol% of carbon fiber is mixed. These combination sliding members are excellent in corrosion resistance and especially ceramic Si3N4 is good in seawater. The metal radical composite material is excellent in corrosion resistance if the suitable metal radical is selected. The constructed member is used for a casing and an impeller ring in a pump in which lubricating liquid can't be used in addition to working liquid so as to obtain the required surface pressure and have a small coefficient of friction.
