A scalpel for incisions in narrow body channels whose shaft is guided to the incision area like a pipe on a flexible guiding catheter, is designed according to the invention with a flexible shaft and can therefore even be inserted around curves to sites which are not accessible by rigid instruments. As a protection on insertion, an enveloping hose with a blade-covering cap is preferably provided. The scalpel shaft and the enveloping hose are preferably made of wire spirals coated with plastic.
