PURPOSE:To obtain a battery which causes almost no voltage deterioration or capacity reduction during battery preservation by using a cylindrical metallic case having a nickel plating inner layer with 7-20mum thickness. CONSTITUTION:In order to prevent iron, an elemental metal, from being exposed when an annular groove 4' is formed, the thickness of a nickel plating layer is adjusted to 7-20mum. In the thus constituted battery in which iron is not exposed almost entirely when the annular groove 4' is formed, there is not possibility that zinc migrating from a negative electrode reaches the annular groove 4' after penetrating a separator 6, and any voltage deterioration which might be caused due to the self consumption of an active material can be prevented. |
