The invention relates to a fuel injection system for mixture-compressing, multi-cylinder internal combustion engines with separate intake pipe lines each providing a continuous feed into one cylinder, which lines branch off from an intake manifold, in which an air flow sensor plate, deflectable by the combustion air flow, and at least one arbitrarily controllable throttle valve are arranged and the air flow sensor plate adjusts a control piston of a metering unit, comprising differential pressure valves and arranged in the fuel line, for the proportional metering of fuel, the fuel being fed to injection valves by way of lines. In order to simplify the injection system and to obtain an improved mixture preparation, especially when the internal combustion engine is idling, the metering unit is provided with only one differential pressure valve and meters a quantity of fuel corresponding to all cylinders, which quantity of fuel is fed to only one single injection nozzle, the injection nozzle being arranged in a distributor, from which one line per cylinder branches off into the respective separate intake pipe lines downstream of the throttle valve, and the distributor being connected by way of an air line to the intake manifold upstream of the throttle valve but downstream of the air flow sensor plate. |
