PURPOSE:To make possible high rate discharge over a long time by installing a porous main electrode having electrochemically reducing ability to oxygen and current collecting ability, and a high molecular thin film, which is placed on the surface of gas side in one body with the porous electrode, prepared by plasma polymerization of a fluorinated organic compound. CONSTITUTION:A porous main electrode has an activity reducing (ionizing) oxygen electrochemically, and is a conductive porous body comprising silver filter, Raney nickel, silver or nickel sintering material, or various foam metals. A high molecular thin film prepared by polymerization of monomer of a fluorinated compound is attached on the gas side surface of the porous main electrode. A fluoride used for plasma polymerization is benzotrifluoride, m-chlorobezotrifuloride, hexafluorobenzene, or these mixture. The high molecular thin film has no pinhole ad selective permeability of oxygen gas. Therefore, since entering of carbon dioxide or water vapor in air, which has adverse effect to an electrode reaction inside a battery, is prevented, storage performance of the battery is increased. |
