PURPOSE:To render maintenance safe and simple, by holding a housing having an image bearing body and surrounding units built-in on a support, and pulling the housing and the support in one body out of the main body of the apparatus during maintenance work. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 1, a primary charger 4, a developing unit 5, a cleaner 6 are fixed in the inside of the housing 2, and the housing 2 is arranged on the inside of the support 3. Guide rails 11 are fixed on both sides of the support 3, and engaged with the support rails 13 through a bearings 12. In the maintenance operation, a front door 27 is opened, and the housing 2 and the support 3 are pulled out in one body by pulling a handle 28. In this state, check and repair of each unit, disassembling, and replenishing of a developer are conducted. This constitution makes it unnecessary to disconnect the housing 2 from the guide members, or fix it, and safe and simple maintepance can be carried out. |
