For continuous precipitation (cementation) of metals from their solutions, vibratory vessels with baffles arranged therein are used, by means of which the penetration and hence washing around of the granular precipitants by the flowing solution is effectively assisted both on entry into and on discharge from the vibratory vessel. Especially when fine-grained granules are used as the precipitant, however, granules may be discharged or the outlet orifice may be blocked. According to the invention, this is avoided when the outlet orifice (7) for the spent precipitant with solution and precipitated metal is located in the side wall of the vibratory vessel (1), and when a hold-back plate (10) taken upwards from the vessel bottom is provided between the outlet orifice (7) and the baffle (9) arranged upstream of the outlet orifice (7). <IMAGE>
