The invention relates to aryl fatty acid propargyl esters of the general formula where m is 0 or 1, R1 stands for hydrogen and, if m = 0, for cyano, thiocyanato, halogen, alkoxy having 1 to 4 carbon atoms and also for alkylthio groups having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R2 denotes hydrogen and halogen, R denotes hydrogen, halogen, alkyl having 1 to 6 carbon atoms and methoxy and n is 0 or an integer from 1 to 5. The compounds according to the invention have insecticidal activity.
