NEW MATERIAL:A 4-biphenylylacetic ester shown by the formula I [R is hexyl, or 2-(2-hydroxyethyloxy)ethyl]. EXAMPLE:4-Biphenylylacetic acid n-hexyl ester. USE:Useful as an analgesic antiphlogistic. Having improved endermic absorption, showing effects on alleviation for osteoarthritis, scapulohumeral periarthritis, tendinitis, tendovaginitis, peritendinitis, external epicondylitis radiohumeral epicondylitis (tennis elbow), ache of muscle, inflation after a trauma, symptoms such as ache, etc. as medication to the affected part. PROCESS:A 4-biphenylylacetic acid shown by the formula II or its reactive derivative is reacted with an alcohol shown by the formula III or its reactive derivative in a molar ratio of 2-10mol compound shown by the formula III to 1mol compound shown by the formula II in the absence of a solvent or in an organic solvent such as benzene, etc., to give a compound shown by the formula I . |
