PURPOSE:To omit a brush contacting and separating device to simplify the sturcture and make the device small-size, by providing a cleaning material in the form of a fan on the outside circumference of a cleaning auxiliary member and turning the cleaning auxiliary member so that the cleaning material is not brought into contact with an electrostatic image. CONSTITUTION:A fan-shaped cleaning material 23 consisting of conductive fibers is provided on the outside circumference of a fur brush 21 as the cleaning auxiliary member, and the cleaning material 23 is turnable around a shaft 22. In the exposure stage of the first rotation of a photosensitive drum 1, the brush 21 is so turned that it is not brought into contact with the electrostatic image. In the cleaning stage of the second rotation, the brush 21 is turned to a position D and is brought into contact with the drum 1 so as to bite into the drum 1 and is rotated. Consequently, a residual toner 3 is destaticized by the brush 21 and has the adhesive strength weakened ans is attracted and removed by a magnet roll 5. Thus, the brush contacting and separating device is omitted to simplify the structure, and the device is made small-size. |
