PURPOSE:To manufacture a casting mold having a good collapsing property which does not crack while hot by mixing an inorg. binder, starch binder and water respectively at specific ratios with refractory particles, adding a heat resisting material having a specific characteristic at a specified rate thereto, packing the mixture into a pattern and subjecting the pattern to microwave heating. CONSTITUTION:About 0.5-3% inorg. binder such as water glass or the like, about 0.5-2% starch binder such as starch and about 0-5% water are added to and mixed with refractory particles such as sand. A heat resisting material such as pearlite or the like having about 70-90% porosity and about <=2mm. grain size is added at about 5-20% to and with the mixture. Such mixture is packed in a pattern to be cured by microwave heating and is subjected to microwave heating. The casting mold which takes advantage of the pearlite characteristic, does not crack while hot and has an excellent collapsing property is thus manufactured. |
