PURPOSE:To contrive to uniformly lubricate on the sides of both side housings, by a method wherein a part of lubrication on the side of a side housing where insufficient lubrication may occur is shared by direct lubricating ports opened into a rotor housing. CONSTITUTION:The side housings 3, 3' located on both sides of rotor housings 2, 2' are provided with intake ports 14, 14', through which a lubricating oil is supplied together with an intake gas, and the oil is supplied into an intake gas operating chamber directly through the direct lubricating ports 17, 17' opened into the rotor housings. In such a rotary piston engine, the direct lubricating ports 17, 17' are opened at positions deviated to the side of the side housings 3, 3' provided with secondary-side intake ports 30, 30', in reference to center lines L, L' in the width direction of the rotor housing. Accordingly, the optimum quantity of lubricating oil can be distributed to apex seals 25, 25' and side seals 23, 24, 23', 24' without augmenting a lubricating system. |
