PURPOSE:To obtain a damping device capable of controlling the amounts of water according to the nonuniformity in percentage of printing element and the thickness of water film on plate by providing a regulator to properly adjust the height of water surface in the widthwise direction of a tank for damping water. CONSTITUTION:A pipe 9 divided in the widthwise direction is attached to the water surface of a water tank 8, and small holes 10 are drilled at a fixed pitch P in the pipe 9. Flow control valves 12 are provided to connecting pipes 11 to adjust the amount of water or air 13 to be supplied. The damping water 15 of the water tank 8 is supplied by a water-immersed roller 3 to the plate face. The water surface is vibrated by water or air discharged from the pipe 9 to properly adjust the height of the water surface in the widthwise direction. |
