PURPOSE:To obtain a photoreceptor having high sensitivity to light in a near IR region, and no toxicity, by forming a charge generating layer with an org. film consisting of a phthalocyanine compd. contg. a metal of group IV and a shifting agent, and forming a charge transfer layer on said layer. CONSTITUTION:A thin org. film made of a phthalocyanine compd. contg. a metal of group IV formed on a conductive substrate is brought into contact with at least one shifting agent selected from a group consisting of quinoline derivs., indole derivs., benzotriazole derivs., bipyridine derivs., and phenathroline derivs. to form a charge generating layer. A charge transfer layer consisting of a charge transfer agent and a binder is formed on the charge generating layer. The metal of group IV of this invention is Ti, Sn, and/or Pb, and the phthalocyanine compd. contg. this metal is (TiPc), TiClPc), and (TiClPcCl) obtd. by chlorinating one of benzene rings, and the like. The shifting agent used here is a compd. for shifting the absorption wavelength of the substance in contact with it to the side of longer wavelengths, and it is exemplified by a specified quinoline, indole, benzotriazole, bipyridine, and phenanthroline derivs. |
