OZONIZATION SYSTEM FOR DRINKING WATER DISINFECTION

Ozone is generated from an oxygen-rich gas preferably containing at least 70% O2 and the generated gas stream employed in a process such as the ozonation of drinking water. The off gas from the water treatment is split into a major fraction which is dried and recycled to the ozone generation. A minor purge fraction of the off gas is employed in stripping nitrogen and carbon dioxide from the influent water subjected to disinfection by the generated ozone-containing gas.
