A rotary filter, primarily concerned with the separation of fibres from a fibre suspension, consists of a number of circular filter discs (3), composed of a number of filter elements (5). The filter discs are mounted on a horizontal plane in a rotational container situated on a cylindrical drum-shaped axel (4), built up, partly by axially directed outlet channels (6), and partly by transverse channels (7) which communicate with the individual fibre elements (5). A collecting funnel (8) is arranged within the axel (4), via its only (open) end. During a part of the rotational revolution, a lighter pressure is maintained on the filter elements' interiors (5) than on their exteriors. A feature of the filter is that the aforementioned transverse axially directed outlet channels (6) are arranged in groups of at least two channels.<IMAGE> |
