PURPOSE:To obtain an optical fiber cable not requiring protection with heat resistant fibers, by directly coating the circumference of plastic optical fibers of acrylic or the like resins with an 11-nylon resin extrusible at low temp. CONSTITUTION:A plastic type optical fiber 2 fed from an unwinding bobbin 1 is coated with the 11 nylon resin 4 extruded from an extruder 3 to unite to one body, and wound with a winding bobbin 5. The figure illustrates the cross section of the plastic optical fiber cable, 2' is said fiber, and 4' is the 11-nylon resin. |
