It is customary when the welding place is remote from the welding apparatus to adjust the welding current via a remote adjuster connected via a cable to the welding apparatus. The disadvantage of this arrangement is that in rough construction site operation the danger of a cable fracture or cable breakage is very large, which can lead to defective weld seams. The object of the present invention is to provide a cable-less remote adjuster. The essence of the invention is that a handy, cable-less remote adjuster always carried by the welder is provided with two conducting surfaces, on which is superimposed a corresponding frequency of the welding voltage by contact of the conducting surfaces of a workpiece and a welding electrode. An evaluating circuit is provided in the welding current source, which appropriately increases or decreases the frequency of the welding current. |
