PURPOSE:To permit assortment in high efficiency by installing a switching apparatus set up with a direction changing wheel which makes frequent appearance on the conveyance surface of belts, in the crossing part between a conveyor for conveying articles and an assorting conveyor installed so as to cross said article conveyor. CONSTITUTION:Each switching apparatus 20 which is installed in correspondence with each of a plurality of assorting conveyors 2 which are arranged in crossing a main conveyor 1 is preferably installed in a bent part 4 formed on the main conveyor 1. In each switching apparatus 20, a plurality of grooved wheels 21 which are installed in the direction of width of the conveyor 1 and onto which round belts 23 which are rotatably driven are put are axially supported onto a U-shaped bracket 25, which is integrally equipped with a rotary shaft 26 having a projecting pin 30. A cam member 28 equipped with a spiral groove 28' into which the pin 30 is engaged is fitted onto said rotary shaft 26, and the wheel 21 is projected from the conveyance surface and oriented obliquely by raising- up the rotary shaft 26 by means of a cylinder etc. |
