PURPOSE:To increase the generation efficiency of corona ions and to perform recording at a high speed in a device which applies a high voltage to a corona wire and controls the ion flow generated by the same in performing recording, by providing a heating means which maintains the corona wires at a high temp. CONSTITUTION:A metallic case 12 is provided by enclosing a corona wire 11 kept at a high temp. and an air inlet 13 and an air outlet 14 are provided to the case 12. A high voltage is applied from an electric power source 17 for generating corona on the wire 11; at the same time, a specified electric current is flowed from a power source 15 for heating to the wire 11 to maintain at 50- 200 deg.C. Fresh air is fed through the inlet 13. Corona ions are generated in this state and ion flow 8 is turned on and off by an aperture electrode 3 for control, whereby an electrostatic latent image is formed. The overheating of the wire 11 is prevented and the generation of corona ions is made more efficient and stabler in the above-mentioned way. The writing for high speed recording is thus made possible. |
