A wound drainage catheter has an outer tube and an inner tube inside the latter. With the arrangement of one end of the catheter the inner tube slightly projects beyond the outer tube inside the wound. A Y-shaped connecting piece is connected to the other end of the outer tube. The inner tube extends through an arm of the connecting piece and ends in a coupling part which is connected with this arm in a liquid-tight manner. The interior of the other tube is connected with the other space of the connecting piece. In use, a supply of rinsing liquid is connected with the coupling part, so that the rinsing liquid flows along the inner tube into the wound. The other arm of the connecting piece is connected to a drainage device through which liquid is sucked from the wound along the inner tube.
