PURPOSE:To decrease fish tails and overlaps and to improve the yield of an ingot by combining a casting mold having the bottom end part notched from the lower part toward the inside and a molding board having a slope in contact with the notched surface of the casting mold and casting the ingot having the notched bottom. CONSTITUTION:A casting mold 5 having a wide lower part and an open upper part is made into a casting mold having two notched bottom ends wherein the bottom ends 5' in both short sides thereof are notched from the lower part toward the inside to form an inclination theta. Such casting mold is combined with a specially shaped molding board 7 wherein the parts facing to both end sides of the casting mold are formed to sloped parts 7' equal to the inclination theta of the mold 5. If a casting mold 6 having one notched end and a molding board 8 having a special shape on one side are combined, the yield of an ingot decreases slightly but the set of the mold 6 and the board 8 is made simpler and since the same ingot is made castable by providing only one kind of the board 8 in stock at all times, the management is easy. |
