A process for converting C1-C4 alcohols and/or C2-C4 to olefins over a catalyst comprising a zeolite in the presence of a C2-C5 straight chain alkane diluent. For example, methanol may be converted over ZSM-5 with a propane or n-butane diluent to produce an olefinic product rich in ethylene, propylene and butene, and containing a relatively small quantity of aromatics. |
