<p>PURPOSE:To cause the heat of an engine to automatically burn particulates clinging to a ceramic filter, by making the wall of a cylinder and the top of a piston from such a material of low thermal conductivity as ceramic to heighten the heat retaining property of the engine. CONSTITUTION:The wall 2 of the cylinder of an engine 1 is made of such a material of good heat resistance and low thermal conductivity as ceramic. A piston 7 is fitted inside the cylinder wall 2. The top of the piston 7 is made of such a material 8 of good heat resistance and low thermal conductivity. The piston 7 is connected to a crank 9 through a rod 10. An intake pipe 4 and an exhaust pipe 6 are connected to the cylinder wall 2. The intake pipe 4 is fitted with an intake valve 3. The exhaust pipe 6 is fitted with an exhaust valve 5. A trap 11 is coupled to the exhaust pipe 6. The trap 11 comprises a case 14 and a ceramic filter 12.</p> |
