The station is especially for bodyshells or components thereof. To reduce the number of different types of welding jaws required in this finishing station and to reduce the investment costs for current supply, the welding jaws are constructed as transformer weld jaws, which are known per se, and which can be interchangeably connected to a flexible primary cable. Only one welding jaw is in use at any given time, the welding jaws which are not required being suspended in a support frame. The welding jaw, when connected and in working use, is movable on all sides around the sheet metal component, due to a spatially movable crane structure; a rotary crown around the welding jaws within the suspension likewise provides versatility of use of a given jaw type.
