PURPOSE:To enhance the characteristic of a sealed lead storage battery by adding the sulfate of an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal to make a paste for the plate. CONSTITUTION:The sulfate of an alkali metal such as sodium or an alkaline earth metal is added to make a paste for a plate. As a result, such a sulfate is eluted into electrolyte, thereby suppressing the increase in the resistance of the electrolyte which may be caused during the battery is left in an overdischarged state. Consequently, time required for charging of the battery is shortened. |
