The record sleeve made of paper or cardboard and produced from a blank has over the entire surface of its inside a coating of a plasticiser-free varnish, the varnish coating in the dry state being only about 0.5 to 2.5 g/m<2>. The varnish coating is applied over the entire surface of the continuous web, from which the blanks are produced when the varnish coating has dried.
