The invention relates, as shown in Fig. 1, to a device for sorting granular heaps of debris, interspersed with clay, loam and/or with foreign components such as wood and coal. This mixture is sorted, according to the invention, by means of rising and sinking flow processes. A container (10) with a stirrer (11) has inside it a flat delivery plate (12) with a liquid feed (13) into the space (14) free from stirrers, a takeoff trough (15) for the foreign components, below the water level, feed ducts (16) in the central portion of the container, and a deposition container (17) in the lower space (18) free from stirrers with an outlet valve (10). Such devices are increasingly required because of the exhaustion of the strata near the surface and the obligation to demolish even minor heaps of debris. <IMAGE>
